Establish a Strong Stand for Sugarbeet Success.
A strong foundation is the establishment and maintenance of a healthy, vigorous stand of sugarbeets. Important factors include field drainage, field selection, crop rotation, seedbed preparation, and moisture conditions. Also important is planter maintenance and speed, seed spacing, size and depth, seed to soil contact, furrow closure, and planter plows. It's critical to control every factor possible to achieve a final uniform stand of 170 beets per 100' of row.
