Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)
Passed in 2011, the Food Safety Modernization Act’s main objective is to update the current FDA rules to ensure the United States food supply is safe by changing the focus from only responding to food contamination issues to preventing them from occurring. The prevention of potential food safety issues during the production of American Crystal Sugar Company products has always been our #1 priority. Our customers deserve nothing less.

Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)
American Crystal Sugar Company receives annual certification through the Safe, Quality Foods (SQF) program that meets the strict requirements of the GFSI. SQF audits require documented food safety policies that cover food production along the entire food chain, from farm to fork, to ensure confidence in the delivery of safe food to our customer.
