PLEASE NOTE: The purpose of this calculator is for relative comparisons to assist in prepile harvest decisions between two fields. The calculator is not intended to calculate or predict the actual beet payment.

1. These calculations are based on the 2024 March Forecast (2023 crop). The 2024 crop year may have different payment variables (operating costs, recovery rates, and agri-product revenues, etc.).
2. The % premiums used in the prepile calculations are based on the five-year average premiums and do not attempt to predict any future Prepile Premium percentages.

How to Use

Select Days Prior to Harvest from the drop down list. Enter Expected Selling Price of Sugar, Tons/Acre, % Sugar, % SLM, and Hauling Cost/Ton for both Field 1 and Field 2. Click Calculate button to view the result.

How to Read Results

The Prepile Calculator shows you the relative comparative value of the prepile beets for the two different harvest scenarios based on the information as stated above. The values are not a prediction but are calculated based on the historical % Prepile Premium data for the days selected Prior to Stockpile Harvest.
