Welcome to the First New Hires of the 2016 Sugar Campaign
Donna Seltveit, Director of Human Resources
On August 24, 2015, 22 new team members started their careers with American Crystal Sugar Company. “New Hire Orientation” is the first five days on the job and is spent learning about the history of American Crystal, the process of turning sugar beets into crystalized sugar and everything that happens in between. During this time, our new team members will meet the leadership in their respective locations and take a tour of the facilities with technical training leads. They will be taught basic safety procedures, go through some required paperwork to receive their benefits, and generally learn about what it will be like when they are out on the floor in their respective positions.
New Hire Orientation is a team effort – it takes many people within each facility to introduce our new people to the art of manufacturing and packaging sugar. Our goal, during the first five days is to ensure our employees understand they are part of a team and that our customers, employee safety, and production efficiency are critical to our Company’s success.
We know that our employees drive our success and are excited to welcome all new employees to the Company. We are also very thankful to other team members who are dedicating their time and talent to make the experience for new employees meaningful and positive!
