HILLSBORO, N.D. - Fourteen cars of a freight train carrying sugar derailed north of here, authorities said. No one was hurt.

Traill County Sheriff Mike Crocker said the Burlington Northern Santa Fe derailment happened about 10:45 on Saturday night. Crews were cleaning up the site Monday, he said.

"It's out in the field," Crocker said. "It's off the road, so it's not creating any traffic problems."

The cause of the derailment was under investigation.
