Heavy Snow Could Delay The Sugar Beet Harvest
October 4, 2005
The Associated Press

Neil Juhnke is American Crystal Sugar's ag operations manager.

He says beet farmers don't like to see snow during the harvest. He says anything more than an inch or two could mean a delay of up to four days.

Juhnke says the Red River Valley beet harvest is about 17-percent complete. Tonnage is down slightly because of wet weather early in the season, but Juhnke says the sugar content is good.
